Received instant payment via PayPal, but the address is unconfirmed?

Hi-

I recently sold an item on eBay and have received instant payment through PayPal. I have transferred the money to my bank account (waiting for it to clear now). How safe is it to ship this item to the buyer? I feel I should get delivery confirmation with signature- is this a reasonable move?

Thanks for any help!

The person did not give paypal a credit card infromation and their address was not able to be confirmed. I have used Paypal/ebay for five years now and I get it all the time. Once the payment clears send it. I have never had a problem with anyone that paid me. Most of my are people that will not pay

I have been buying/selling on Ebay for several years. I have received many Paypal payments from unconfirmed addresses. Never had any problems. Also, keep in mind, that if you received an INSTANT payment, then you already have the money. If it were an e-check, then I would wait til it clears your bank. I have found that it is usually just because the buyer is new (probably has less than 10 feedback)that the address is unconfirmed. That process takes a week or so, and most people, when given the opportunity to purchase on Ebay, are not going to wait the week. (the old kid in a candy store scenario) I was new to Ebay once too, I try to give newbies the benefit. Like I said, you have the money, I would ship the item.

Sure confirmed is better but they cannot take the money back .. Is prob a new account. EBay owns paypal. So the only thing that the buyer can do at this point is say they did not get the product so they would have to dispute the transaction.

So YES I would get either a signature OR get a tracking number with delivery verification and poss insurance?

Thanks

It's safe. I've done it several times before. Just make sure you send the item via UPS. That way there is insurance on it, you can track the shipment via e-mail, and you will be positive that they received it.. I would just wait the 3-4 days for the money to show up into your account before you ship the item. Make sure to message the buyer, so they don't think you forgot about them or have bad communication. This is key to positive feedback.

I used to be a customer on eBay with an unconfirmed address but still verified and I am VERY trustworthy :) the reason I had an unconfirmed address was because my credit cards/debit cards/checking accounts were connected with the address I used to live at with my family - then I moved away for college, but still kept all my cards, thus an UNCONFIRMED address ;) only reason was because I moved out of my house..

Paypal will reimburse you if you get burnt. I just use delivery confirmation. I don't have them sign b/c it costs you 1.75 more. If it is a high dollar item, i would have a signature regardless...

Hope this helps. Check out paypal's site and it will explain that you are "insured" up to 2000
