I ordered a package early sunday morning.
I selected 2 day shipping which means it ships two days after they label and send it off.

I was told that the package was to ship monday, didnt until tuesday morning and now have been told its expected tomorrow the 12th

However it says for my tracking that the package is in my city close to home, why would they have to hold it another day? Cant i just go get it?

2 day shipping means once USPS gets it, it will be delivered in 2 days - and that business days.

It has nothing to do with when the label was printed.

Your order probably wasn't picked up by USPS until Tuesday, meaning it won't be delivered until Thursday. Here, "delivery" refers to getting to your local post office, at which point it would normally be loaded onto a truck and delivered to your house. If you instructed the post office to hold the package, the USPS will deliver a post card to your house informing you there is a package. You will need to bring the postcard with you to the post office indicated on the card in order to actually get your package.

So the earliest you could get the package would be Thursday - after the postman delivers the postcard to your house (and assuming that branch office is still open.)

No you can't. It's 2 days from when UPS gets it, NOT when the label is printed.

The package is in a sorting depot, not a delivery depot. Once it is sorted for the next depot, it goes there to be sorted the last time for delivery. It actually has nothing to do with how close to you the package is.
