Question:
How many keys do you routinely carry?

I was just noticing that I always have sixteen keys in my pockets. This includes keys to my apartment, my girlfriend's apartment, car keys, and a host of keys that I cannot identify.

How many keys do you have in your pockets at any given time?

I'm not quite sure where to post this.

Actually you will find that the number of keys in the pocket depend on the person. Many people carry more than they need because they never take the old ones off and then forget what they are for. I carry only 4 keys and know what each is for.

A custodian or person who needs access to a lot of doors and locks will carry a number of keys, 20 or more sometimes, but only when working.

You should remove extra keys and save them in case you discover their use. It makes it easier to find the right key when you need it.

Keys to the shop, key I never use to house (garage door opens), key to husband's office, key to husband's safe, key to my safe, key to mom and dad's house, key to truck, key to car, key to this lady's house next door, key to bedroom, That makes eight. I am a woman, keys not in my pocket though, they are floating around all over. Two in purse, one in small drawer two hidden, one I don't know never mind 8.

Three. A house key, mail key and the key to my mom's house. I don't have a car, and I store other keys in my desk at home in case I find something that those keys belong to.

Nine.

In my purse, not my pocket.

My apartment.

My the ignition to my car.

The "valet" ignition to my car.

My mailbox.

My nephew's apartment.

My Mom's house.

My desk at work.

2 for my "little box of tricks" that no one is allowed into except ME.

I also have a card-key to get into the building where I work, and 1 spare key to my car in the bottom of my purse in case I lock my keys into my car.

I carry them in my bag instead of my pocket, but there are 5 total: car, house, shed, parent's spare house and garage. In addition, there are three keychains in the bundle and two of those keychain discount card things for two different pet stores in town.

All in all, it makes one large, jangly bundle. (Too big for a pocket)

Keeping all those key's in your pocket, do you often end up jabbing youself in the leg when trying to sit down? I think I would worry about that.

Generally, none in my pocket, technically. I hang them on a hook in my house, or otherwise leave them in my car(! Bad habit!) But I have two house keys, two car keys, one van key, and one work key. Six.

The worst part is, I have five RFID keys that are as thick as almost 3 credit cards each!!! That's like carrying around 15 credit cards!!! I hate RFID cards.

House, truck, 2 for mom's house (front & back door) and 1 key that I have no idea what it goes to but I don't want to throw it out because as soon as I do then I'll remember what it's for and I'll need it.
