Class: Priority Mail®
Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 08, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

can somebody explain in detail plz
thx

"Electronic Shipping Info Received" typically means that a shipping label has been generated but does not necessarily indicate that the shipment has actually been handed off to the USPS (although it likely has). For example, if I print a shipping label using Stamps.com, the USPS will show "Electronic Shipping Info Received" for that shipment even if the package is still sitting on my desk. But until the package is in the custody of the USPS, there is nothing else to report on tracking.

Please be aware that Electronic Delivery Confirmation is just that--delivery confirmation--and is NOT tracking. While the USPS may update a package throughout its route, they are not required to scan packages except at delivery. This means that you may not see an additional scan until the packaged is actually delivered (hence the name, Electronic Delivery Confirmation) even if the package has already shipped.

Another issue to be aware of is that the USPS generally only updates online tracking in the evening which means it is very possible that the package is already with the USPS (and may even be close to your destination) but perhaps tracking has not been updated.

It means the shipper has opened a shipping document with USPS but has NOT as yet shipped the package.

August 8 was a Sunday and USPS doesn't pickup on Sunday. Tomorrow, or late tonight you will likely see the status change IF the shipper actually delivers the package to USPS.

Stamps.com has it right. When the package is actually shipped, it will read something like "package accepted." Until that time, it is not in the hands of the USPS, meaning it has not been mailed.
