To send money:

> Go to western union office (You can also do it online)

> Give recivers first name , last name, and country (some offices demand more details from reciver like street ZIP, city)

> Usally you must indentify yourself!

> Pay the money + commission you need to send (usally cash)

> You will recive a form from the clerk with a MTCN number, this number + YOUR first name last name + city + country give to receipt and within 1 minute he can pickup that money cash.

To recive money:

> Go to the Westernunion office, with the MTCN you received from the sender.

> They will identify you and give you the money

I guess receiving money is fine as long as the sender is willing to send the full amount. Don't get the partial amount - just remember to get it in full. The problem usually occurs when buying because the receiver's full identification , such as Social Security isn't disclosed so they can get away with it if the seller resides in foreign country.

BTW is the person buying from you a US resident? It'll be very safe in this case. Even if its not the case then I think everything should be all right.

All the best selling online!!

Western Union is safe, they been around for years. With Western Union, you can pick up money anywhere their is an office, they will give you the cash also when you pick money up, not a check or money order. After you have cash in hand your fine to send the item.

it is safe but its a lot cheaper for the seller to buy a usps monety order....in any event you can cash a wu at any place that sells them...with a usps money order you just endorse it and deposit it to your bank

The western union ebay scam is about buyers, not sellers.

As a seller, once you get your money through Western Union, It's YOURS. So, there's no problem on your part.

The risk is on the seller's end, since once they give the money over to Western Union, they have no recourse if you do not send the item as agreed.

I hope that helps.

Update:

You added the detail "they want you to ship the item and then after they get it and check the item out proceede to give you the password and the money. "

I agree, that DOES sound like a scam.

Never send out your goods on Ebay until you have legal tender in hand (or at least safely in your account).

Good luck selling your saxophone.
