Using USPS First Class Mail?

I want to send something by USPS 1st Class Int.
I read the 'customs" section on their site and it said for First Class, Prority and Express Mail i think, that it doesnt pass through customs.

is this correct or did i miss something?
the item isnt very big.

You read wrong. All mail leaving the US for international destinations is subject to all customs rules and regulations.

If it is a small package you have to attach a customs declaration tag to the package. It will then not be opened by Customs here, but will go thru a security point to be x-rayed.

When it arrives in whatever country you are sending to, it will go through their customs. What they do will be up to them.

What in the world are you sending that you're worried about customs? Maybe you ought to reconsider being an enabler to someone in another country.
