need help with Import export code number?

Question

I run a Proprietorship firm. I work online for US, UK and CANADA clients. I am a web designer. My work is designing and setting up websites for overseas people and companies.Everything goes online.

I got my IEC number recently on my firm name, under type of export "merchant exporter".
Actually I wanted to get my IEC number under export type"service provider".
I don't have service registration certificate so they gave me an IEC under "merchant exporter".

I want to know whether I come under type of export "merchant exporter" as I already told that I provide web design services.

Will there be any problems in future If I continue with "merchant exporter" license.

Along with IEC you are required to get your Export Invoices certified from STPI (Software Technology Park of India) and then you have to follow the procedure as explained by your Bank.

Yes everywhere they mention dont go with the agents on notice boards but In realtity the agents open their shops outside every govt offices. They offer their illegal services freely without any shame they told you the officer inside take big bribe so you have to pay trible the acutal amount to get it done. I Use to stand in long ques nobody their to show you the right path nobody is there frendly and available no information counter all govt employees are rude they will not answer you and show you the correct way to proceed. At Hyderabad RTA Office Its fully corrupted and a common man is very frustrated because of this system.
