Question:
Does e-bay have outrageously dirt cheap prices on old books, or are other antique booksellers* price gouging?

*Online antiquarian booksellers like AABA and Abebooks, in contrast to e-bay booksellers who often list old books as low as $.99 buy-it-now or best offer ( on e-bay where things can be sold as low as $.01.

Usually e-Bay sellers have dirt cheap prices to get a lower listing fee, then gouge on the shipping and handling.

You have to shop around. half.com (part of eBay) somtimes has the best deals, sometimes amazon.com does, sometimes Barnes and Nobels online does. I've seen a book listed for $5.oo by one seller being sold for $45 by another. Some of it depends on condition, collectablilty, and greed of the seller. It pays to compare.

I've gotten some great deals on eBay for used books! Selection can be limited but anything there is usually dirt cheap.
