Confused about the Sorry we missed you we re deliver for you letter(usps)?

Well i got a letter today from USPS. its a small tiny peice of paper thats titled Sorry we missed you! we re deliver for you. Im guessing i wasn't here when they delivered it it says they redeliver it or i pick it up at the post office. I've never done this before am i supposed to pick it up? how do i know they will re deliver it? its a registered item by the way. Thank you for answering

The peach colored slip (Form 3849) let's you know the USPS tried to deliver an item but was not successful. Registered letters are not redelivered, only express mail receives that treatment. You can choose what you want to do next. You can either pick up the item at the post office or you can fill out the back of the peach form and leave it for your Letter Carrier, who will then leave it in your mailbox the following day.

If they do not redeliver tomorrow when they deliver the rest of your mail then you can take the slip to the post office after you get home and they will give it to you there. Usually they write a time on the slip as to when you can pick it up, but it they didn't the standard time is 4:30-5pm

The post office will try to redeliver the next day and if you are not there then you will need to pick it up..They will only hold for so long as well because it is registered.. they will return it to the sender..

They will usually try over the next few days to reach you at home, if they can't then they will leave you another note saying you must come and pick it up. Take the paper with you to the post office so they can find it easier. I just showed up there once to get my letter and the postmaster was grumpy that he had to search through what he had. ooooops...

The deliver to you once then they would let the notice if you don't showed up they would try again and the next they would return the letter or the package to the sender

They should bring it back tomorrow....but you could always call the see if it is out for delivery or arrange to pick it up. Registered mail has to be signed off every step of the way, and is used for diamonds and other high value merchandise.

They will try three times, then you have to pick it up at your post office. You need to be home since it's registered and you need to sign it. If you can't be home, just go to your neighborhood post, get in line, and pick it up.

u can pick it up at PO your local one just after 6AM M-Sat before 7.3AM sugest u call in late when u do. they may try again tomorrow.
