I have started my ebay business, and have been shipping items through the post office, but their rates, even for flat rate boxes and prepaid labels, are getting expensive, which would be the cheaper and easier route to take?

UPS. I bought a shirt a while back and it was free shipping so I tried a $70 shipping service that said it would be shipped out in about a day. It had to be 2 weeks before I got that shirt . . . never again.

The postal service is still cheaper than fedex and UPS in most cases..Don't know what your selling or your price range of you items . but a regional A box is the cheapest way to get a package across the country for less than $10.00 to most areas in 2 to 3 days . you also have to factor in postal service gives free boxes..other companies charge for there boxes. I have shipped over 5000 packages with the postal service priority mail very happy with their service .There tracking could be better .. but when you compare priority mail 2/3 service to 2nd day air the cost is like 4 to 5 times higher when you ship UPS or FEDEX. I have to ship a part 1 day express mail cost $32 same package UPS same delivery time $82.60 . also as of right now the postal service still delivers and counts saturday as a delivery /service date .

Unless your items are very large or very heavy, USPS is going to be cheaper.

You don't have to use the flat rate boxes, you know. Flat rate is usually more expensive than just bringing your item up to the counter and paying the regular postage.

USPS rates are lower than are UPS or FedEx. USPS is slower, but is the least expensive for the moment.
