think about starting a business?

Okay here's the idea, and yeah it already exists. Just not in my area. Grocery delivery. You go to our website, place an order and get next day delivery. Same day if the order is places by 9:00 AM. No delivery charges. You get your delivery from a uniformed employee in a company truck who calls ahead to give you an ETA on the morning of your delivery. Now my question. Is this a service you or your family would use. Feel free to bash me.

Having just spend 10 years in this field it dis a very difficult business not with a ton of profits. Multiple large companies have tried this and failed. You will have to deal with competition from the grocery stores themselves, who is going to do the purchasing? What if you purchase something the customer doesn't want or like ( you will bear that cost). You will have to deal with broken down trucks with food on them and keeping the cold, you will have to deal with customers that aren't home when they say they will be home. Additionally, you need to be prepared to deal with driver injuries for carrying the deliveries to the doors (slips, falls, back injuries and the like). Good luck, not a business I would recommend for anyone.

I would not use it because I have no issues going grocery shopping.

Your issue is whether or not YOUR area (not the community of Y!A) would be willing to use this service.

The reason it may not exist in your area is because there is no need.

It's been done and it has been a terrific way to lose money. How would you make a profit ?
