am I asking for too much? and what are some ways I could pick up some more money...?

I want to take a ski trip out west this winter...including airfare and a season pass (cheaper than daily lift tickets)...it comes to about 800 (lodging is not an issue). I'm asking my parents for this to be my christmas/b-day present. I know that sounds a little spoiled, but every year for christmas, my parents ask me what I want, and I never really want anything that badly. I've never had a big birthday party (no "sweet sixteen" ...which in my opinion isn't that necessary in the first place)...anyway...point being, I'm not a spoiled brat. I'm a good kid, I do well in school, honors, AP...don't drink, don't do drugs, don't party.
Does this sound bad? My parents are already kind of on board for this.
However, I'm also going to get a seasons pass for skiing at home, which is about 400. Plus, I want new gear/clothes this year (I get good use out of my things, I don't buy new stuff every year). Usually my parents would use this as xmas/bday stuff, but with the trip, that would be outrageous. However, I work a not good job. Minimum wage, and the job is only 10 hours a week. This is going to take a dent out of my savings. What are some extra ways besides a job that a girl in her late teens could make some money? I will take anything. Except babysitting, because no needs that around where I live. Plus, anyone who does already has their desired babysitter.

well the only way to make more money is to work more. So you can ethier take more hours at work or find a job that pays more then minimum wage. Sometimes a coffee shop is good for this because you make a wage per hour and also get tips. So you can ethier save your wage per hour to put forward to this trip and spend the tips you make or save the tips.



You also said that you are a good student why don't you (when school starts) start up and editing business for your classmates. and although you said that there is no need for babysitting parents mght need help for a tutor for their child.



Its also summer right now, have a yard sale of you stuff , mow some lawns, and when the seasons change rake leaves, shovel snow etc. You might also want to think about putting up flyers up at seniors apartment buildings saying that you will pick up their grocier.s. If you charge five dollars for all of those things each you only need 160 people to make the 800.

The best thing to do is to be creative with this.



I do think that this is a lot to ask for but you sound like you are willing to help out with some of the cost so maybe say to your parents you will pay for half this trip.
